Coffee is one of the most famous drinks in the world and for good reason. A good cup of coffee can energize but also provide some comfort. Everyone can agree that catching up with a friend over a coffee is perhaps one of the best ways to pass time.
So, for all of you, coffee lovers in North Carolina, Cardinal Pine, a Courier Newsroom publication has published an article that includes five of the Tar Heel State’s best coffee shops.
Dough Joe’s Doughnuts & Coffee, Winston-Salem
This little coffee shop was started by two students from Wake Forest University. The two united over their love for coffee and have put together a coffee shop that is straight out of a fairytale. Stylized like Belle’s dream cottage, their coffee shop is also a nut-free zone. For anyone who has nut allergies, and loves a cozy atmosphere, Dough Joe’s Doughnuts in Winston-Salem is the place for you.
Drift Coffee, Wilmington
Drift Coffee has five locations and each one of these is unique in its own right. It is the classic light, airy, trendy internet café, according to the Courier Newsroom publication. If you are craving a beachside brunch, head over to their Wrightsville Beach location. Another coffee shop that is a fan favorite is located at the Ocean Isle Beach café, only a short walk from the ocean. The coffee shop continues to serve holiday flavors to keep the mood cheery.
Asali Café, Cary
This café is great because it offers a cosmopolitan kick with its Mediterranean desserts and Arab vibes. The café also provides specialty cakes, whether that’s for birthdays, weddings, or other special occasions. If you are feeling fanciful, they also offer high tea, which includes a great assortment of tiny sandwiches, desserts, and spreads. The brainchild of two NC State alumni, this coffee shop is a must-visit.
Meeples Brew, Morrisville
This coffee shop is good for two reasons. First, it has one of the widest selections of seasonal flavors, and second, this is the first board game coffee shop in Morrisville. The best part is that they have more than 500 games, which you can play in-store or even rent and take them home with you. Also, if you bring your own game, you can play there all day for free. They also have a second location in Cary.
Green Joe’s, Greensboro
This coffee shop has an industrial décor and benefits from the delicious creations of its talented baristas. They have a great selection of great holiday-themed decadent flavors, that are sure to entice anyone. The guys over at Green Joe’s are particularly famous for a drink called the Cinnematic, reported the Courier Newsroom publication, which is a fun blend of coffee with cinnamon and brown sugar.
What’s better than a coffee shop that serves good coffee? A coffee shop that also teaches you how to make your own coffee. In addition to great barista training sessions, Green Joe’s patrons can also benefit from an exclusive coffee club membership, which entitles them to monthly goody bags of coffee and special perks.
